We are very fortunate to have a connection with these teachings. Payments are like offerings, and it is best to give them with gratitude.

Money from student payments supports the development and maintenance of the Online Shedra. There are two types of fees:

Registration Payment:

This payment is only made once when you are accepted into the Online Shedra Program. It is not a yearly payment. This one-time payment is usually $100 but a smaller fee can be paid according to the "Sliding Scale" Fee Structure - see below.

Please note that we rely on an "honor"-system. You decide where you "fit."

You will receive extremely precious teachings, and it is crucial that you choose your category in an honest and generous way. Remember how fortunate we are to have this opportunity.

Category A+
If you are fortunate enough to be able to afford it please contribute as much as you can in addition to category A!

Category A
Income greater than or equal to US $35,000/year (or equivalent):
$100 one-time registration payment
$35/month for teachings

Category B
Income of US $25,000 to $34,999/year (or equivalent):
$75 one-time registration payment
$30/month for teachings

Category C
Income of US $15,000 to $24,999/year (or equivalent):
$50 one-time registration payment
$20/ month for teachings

Category D
Income of US $10,000 to $14,999/year (or equivalent):
$25 one-time registration payment
$10/ month for teachings

Category E
Income less than US $10,000/year (or equivalent):
Whatever you think you can contribute

Category F
Fully ordained Buddhist monk or nun:

Pay by Credit Card

Payments are only accepted with a credit card through the Payment Web page. This is necessary for ease of bookkeeping and the transfer of funds to Bhutan.

Occasionally there will be a Dharma text to purchase through the Longchen Rabjam Shedra. When this happens there will be a separate credit card Web page ONLY for the specific purchase. Clear instructions will be given in these circumstances as they arise.

Please follow these steps when making a Registration Payment or to set up Regular Payments:

  1. Call up the Payment Web Page.
  2. Fill out the Personal Information. This is the student’s information.
  3. Fill out the Billing Information if a different person is paying for the student. If the student is paying for him or herself then check the box “My Billing Information is the same as my Personal Information”
  4. Choose Contribution.
  5. Make your choice for amount and frequency of payment. Frequency can be one-time (useful for Registration payments) or can be repeating (recurring). Many people choose a monthly payment schedule to budget the payments over the year. Other people prefer to pay for an entire year with one payment.
  6. Fill out Payment Information with the details of your credit card.
  7. Click “Make Contribution”. You should receive a notification by email if your payment was successful. The Shedra administrator receives notification as well. *NOTE: If your credit card expires or if you get a card with a new expiration date, then your repeating payments will stop. If this happens, please contact the administrator with the new credit card information or fill out the Payment Web page again with the current credit card information.
